Bro! is a friend-finding app for men. This page explains what we collect, why, who handles it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who is responsible

Lindsö Magnergård AB (org. nr 559599-5258), Stockholm, Sweden, is the data controller. Contact: info@brooo.site.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address and password. The password is stored only as a cryptographic hash, never in readable form.
  • Profile: display name, date of birth, bio, city, interests, personality traits and a profile photo — whatever you choose to add.
  • Political views: only if you pick one under Politics in your interests. It's entirely optional.
  • Location: either the city you type in, or your device's precise location if you switch that on. Stored separately from the rest of your profile and used only to compute distances.
  • Activity: who you tap BRO or Nah on, your matches, your chat messages, how you sort your bros into categories, bros you've removed, and reports you send us.
  • Technical data: our hosting and infrastructure providers log things like IP address and time of request to run and protect the service.

We use no advertising trackers and no analytics tools. Cookies are used only to keep you signed in and to remember whether you ticked "Remember me".

Why, and on what legal basis

  • To run the app — showing nearby bros, ranking by what you have in common, matching and chatting. Legal basis: performance of our agreement with you.
  • Precise location — only if you turn it on. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by switching it off in your profile.
  • Political views — only if you pick one, to show on your profile and match you with bros. Legal basis: your explicit consent, given when you pick it. Withdraw it at any time by unticking it in your profile, and it's deleted.
  • Safety — checking profile photos automatically for nudity, handling reports, and removing accounts that break the rules. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping Bro! safe.

What other members can see

Your display name, age, city, bio, interests, personality and photo — plus a computed distance in kilometres. Your exact coordinates are never shared with anyone, not even bros you've matched with. The distance is calculated on our server and only the resulting number is sent to another member's device. Removing a bro deletes your chat for both of you and hides you from each other; they are not told about it.

Who else handles your data

We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers. We use these providers to run the service, and they may only process data on our instructions:

  • Supabase — database, sign-in, file storage and live chat. Our database is hosted in Frankfurt, Germany.
  • Vercel — runs the app itself. Our server functions run in Frankfurt, Germany.
  • Cloudflare — domain, traffic protection and our contact email.
  • Sightengine — automatically checks each profile photo for nudity before it's saved. Your photo is sent to them for that check.
  • Resend — sends automatic emails, for example password resets.
  • OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) — looks up the city you type in to turn it into coordinates. Only the city name is sent.

Some of these companies are based outside the EU/EEA, so your data may be processed outside the EU under the transfer safeguards they provide, such as the EU standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as you have an account. Delete your account and your profile, photo, matches, messages, swipes and reports are removed immediately. Messages in a chat are deleted for both of you when either of you removes the other. Our providers' technical logs are kept for a short period under their own retention rules.

Deleting your account

You can delete your Bro! account and its data at any time:

  1. Log in, in the app or at www.brooo.site in any web browser — you don't need the app installed.
  2. Open the settings menu (the gear, top right).
  3. Choose Delete account and confirm.

This permanently and immediately deletes your account, profile, photo, location, matches, messages, swipes and reports. Nothing is kept apart from our providers' short-lived technical logs (see above), and there's no undo.

Can't log in? Email info@brooo.site from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We'll do it within 30 days and confirm by email.

Your rights

You have the right to access a copy of your data, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Email info@brooo.site and we'll help you. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY, imy.se).

Age limit

Bro! is for people aged 16 and over. We don't knowingly keep data about anyone younger. If you believe a younger person has an account, email info@brooo.site.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and tell you in the app when the change matters.
